Rain Essentials

(A classic rainy day alternative to the riding boot, Hunter's Regent Cotton and Rubber Boots)

(If a rain boot could ever be considered high fashion, this would definitely be it, Jimmy Choo's Crocodile-print Wellington Boots)

(For those days when you just don't feel like running errands with knee-high rain boots wrapped around your legs, Hunter Brixon Wellies
(A new take on the classic trench that would pair really well with skinny jeans, Forever 21's Trench Cape)

(One of the most luxurious that I have seen yet, this coat just screams luxury, Donna Karan's Belted cotton and silk-blend trench coat)

(This sunny color will definitely bring warmth to any rainy day, Cheap Monday's Madysin Jacket)

(This is an edgier choice with the faux black leather sleeves and belt, Top Shop's Stone PU Sleeve Belted Trench)

So, Mother Nature has really been giving New Yorkers a run for their money this past month. First, an earthquake (yes, I definitely felt it), next hurricane Irene (that wind was very scary here in Brooklyn) and now the second day after Labor Day the temperature has dropped about 20 degrees and it is raining.  Even though I would like to sit and protest the weather, a girl still needs to be prepared.  Here are some rainy weather essentials that are stylish, but will also shield you from the elements.
